The design of wayfinding maps plays a prominent role in facilitating navigation and determining locations and directions. It provides the user with a vivid, accurate and clear picture of the road’s landmarks as a result of representing and abstracting geographical facts and organizing spatial relationships and information in the environment through symbols, signs, typographic elements and colors that reflect their qualities and characteristics in a way that helps to effectively communicate information in its individual form and in its collective form and its relationship with each other. The design of the map is considered a type of visual communication from a functional and aesthetic point of view, as it provides a clear, accurate and understandable mental image of the place and also works to satisfy the recipient’s aesthetic need in order to facilitate the recipient’s understanding of the concepts and information it conveys. Given the importance of the Faculties of Fine Arts - Alexandria University from a cultural, civilizational and heritage perspective, and as it is a vital environment for many students and visitors, the researcher exploited visual communication elements such as scale, symbols, pictorial signs, typographic writings, semantic colors, visual identity, and other visual elements in designing the college’s maps according to an integrated system for finding The route provides a smooth and efficient transportation experience to the Colleges of Fine Arts externally and internally.
