This research explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into theatrical scenography and its impact on the design and execution of live performances. The study highlights how AI technologies—such as generative design tools, virtual reality, and interactive projection systems—have opened new creative pathways for scenographers, enabling more dynamic and immersive visual experiences.
At the same time, the research identifies key challenges facing designers, including limited access to advanced technical infrastructure, lack of digital literacy among artists, and the difficulty of achieving real-time synchronization between AI systems and live performance elements.
The study concludes by recommending practical strategies to address these obstacles, such as introducing AI-focused curricula in art institutions, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and developing lightweight, accessible AI tools tailored for the theatre industry. Ultimately, this research advocates for a balanced approach where AI serves as an enabler of artistic vision rather than a replacement for human creativity.
